Chef de cuisine Andreas Alber, who for more than 10 years has been chef in a renowned 4-star cuisine, has fulfilled his desire to own his own restaurant with the restaurant at his hotel at Verano. As a passionate hunter he loves to spend much time in close contact with nature. It is likely that his natural, unconventional and light manner of cooking, based on the wide variety of regional and fresh products, combined with his own ideas and innovations, also comes from his love of nature, trying to bring his creations to perfection.

Thanks to our perfect position at 1,200 m asl, directly at the mountain station of the Verano funicular, our hotel is an ideal base for your hiking holidays in summertime. No matter if you choose the natural cinema “Knottnkino” as hiking destination, or prefer to walk to Postal or to the Malga Leadner alpine pasture, if you hike to the “Stoanerne Mandln” (lit. transl. Men of Stone), doing one on your own as well, or you walk to the Piccolo Picco Ivigna mountain, or to the picturesque Lago di San Pancrazio lake - your hiking holidays need to be very long in order to explore most of the destinations alongside the Monzoccolo mountain. Moreover, within 7 minutes only you reach the valley floor, from where you can reach the cities of Bolzano and Merano by means of public transport.

Winter sports at the Meraner Land leaves nothing to be desired. The skiing area Merano 2000 is only 15 km away from our hotel and offers several slopes of moderate difficulty, which makes the ski resort a popular destination for families. Not only the Lucky Kinderland with magic carpet makes children’s hearts leap for joy. If you would like to experience winter off the slopes, we recommend snow-shoeing along the Monzoccolo, a visit to the romantic Christmas Market of Merano or simply a walk along the Passirio river in the city of Merano.
